Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope your week has been going well. This past week I had to travel for work again and will be in a hotel until this Sunday. So how do I do keto while I’m away? I don’t have a kitchen, I have a mini fridge and a microwave. Breakfast is included in my room but of course the unhealthy options are the most tempting. So how do you keto while on the go?
One of the first things I did was go to target and grab some items. I grabbed some low carb snacks that would help me not eat cookies during the day (which they put out every day). I grabbed some unsweet iced tea gallons so I wouldn’t be tempted with cokes. And other than that, I am making better choices with the restaurants I’m eating at. Going to chilis and ordering something healthy or a killer salad. I went to a hotel competitor to eat and I ordered a soup and salad which was the bomb. Could I have ordered a burger? Yes. Did I? no. Did I eat a roll with my salad? Yes, but just one. So its ok!
Now, how do I get exercise in while I’m out. First, I’m in Maryland and its freakin cold. It snowed this past weekend and is really pretty but no outside running for me, sorry bout it. The hotel has a gym, but I’ve been working such long days that I haven’t made time. And if you know me, you know I’m not getting up early. Because the normal time here is an hour ahead of my normal time which means it’s to early. Clocking off at 6/7 each day, I’m ready to eat and go to bed. So, I could strive to be a little more active. But it’s ok!
I’ve been tempted every step of the way, but I think I’m doing well. Better than the last time I traveled. Tomorrow I plan on doing a little warm up or squat set in my room before the shower. Just to get my blood pumping and an extra calorie burn. We’ll see.
