Happy Wednesday! I hope you are doing well and having a great start to your new year. It’s been a minute but I took a much needed break over the holidays and was consumed by everything happening last week.
How was your Christmas and New Year’s? I took the week after Christmas off and spent some time at my parent’s house. It was nice to get outside and do some projects for my mom. I did manual labor and quickly realized how not working out the past couple of months has slowed me down. I slept so much when I got back to my apartment because I was so tired. It was great to get away though. Back at work on the 4th and seems like everyone is catching up from being out over the holidays. Obviously, my week took a turn (as did most) on Wednesday with everything that happened at the Capitol. I have been glued to my phone more so than usual, which hasn’t been great for my sleeping habits.
Speaking of sleeping habits! I am helping out one of my hotels with the overnight shift this week. It hasn’t been bad at all though mainly because I slept a ton over the weekend. My last shift is tonight and then I’m off the rest of the week which will be enough time for me to get back to normal. I have a ton of things to do around the apartment though so hopefully I get those done.
I never posted my last 2020 post which talked about my goals and resolutions for this year. I was reviewing the post and realized those resolutions don’t make sense to me. Apparently my mindset has changed a bit since writing it 3 weeks ago.
My main one is to lose weight, of course. Last year, I set the goal to lose 100 lbs and got to about 40 overall I think. I have gained a decent amount of that back so I am on the 100lb weight loss goal again. I will probably continue a sort of low carb/keto and calorie count type of plan. I have really liked doing 4 meals a day that are about 400 calories each. That seems to really help me not overeat. My first goal is to lose 15 lbs by January 31st and I’m already on the right track!
I would love to train for another half marathon. There seems to always be one in the fall I want to do so I’ll make that a goal.
Like last year, I had a “word” for the year. It was a word to help me stay true to all year long. I chose “Authentic” last year and this year I have chosen “Purpose”. While I’m not sure how authentically I lived last year, the year made me become more authentic with myself. But I chose purpose because many days I don’t feel that I have a purpose other than existing and going through the motions. Not that I have to cure cancer or help the homeless but I want to find some sort of purpose in and every day.
I am going to share with you some printable planner sheets I’ve been working on lately. I hope to have them done by the end of the month so stay tuned for that!
Stay safe out there!
